River Tubing in Falmouth Jamaica

What kind of shoes do you need (if any) for river tubing in Falmouth Jamaica (adventure falls excursion)? And do you need insect repellent? Not sure of the logistics and what to bring!

When reading the reviews about these types of excursions, I saw people saying when you get there, they tell you you must have water shoes and they sell them there, but after complaining, they let people wear their own shoes.
