Using Carnival Gift Cards for onboard spending

If you use a Carnival gift card for on board spending and have money left on it, how do they refund it? Do they

refund in cash or give you another gift card and apply what was left?

I doubt very seriously we will have any left, but I was just curious as to how they would handle it.

Thanks!

You can always wait until the end of the cruise then pay your on-board balance then. 1 trip to GS, 1 payment, be done with it. No worrying about cashing out at the casino, no worrying about going to GS or a kiosk every day to load cards, none of that.

Great idea! Didn't think about that - we have FTTF too - so wouldn't have to wait in line as long - win, win!
