Nathon Koh Samui

I was wondering if anybody knows, what kind of tours will offered as we get off the cruise ship in Koh Samui? I am not really interested in the tours offered by tbe boat.

Also, how easy to get a taxi to one of the better hotels?

There were many taxis and vans waiting at the tender pier when we arrived at Nathon. We did not use any driver or tour, so not sure what kind of tours they have. If you have a chance, go to Lucky for lunch. Here are some photos of our day there.

We will also be traveling on HAL. Looks like perfect port for a beach day. Will taxi drivers take dollars?

Not sure about paying taxi drivers with dollars. We did not use any taxi service. Have a wonderful cruise!

When we were there 2 years ago, we arranged a tour in advance, but we saw very many taxis and open air tour

vehicles on the tender dock, so many we had trouble walking to our driver!

I suspect you won't have trouble finding taxi/tour if you say that you need to stop at an ATM as you have no local currency.

There will be many taxi operators waiting on the pier when you get off the tender. Most will have maps and offer suggestions of where they can take you for the day or half day. Pick a driver with good English and a clean air conditioned vehicle and decide exactly what you want to see on the island. Make sure the driver knows what time the ship departs so he can bring up back on time regardless of traffic conditions. Barter for the best price and you should have an enjoyable day.
