Disembarking at San Antonio on January 7

We had planned a 3-day stay in Valparaiso after the cruise and are wondering if anyone else is doing the same and how they plan to get to Valparaiso? There is apparently an inexpensive hourly Turbus connection to Valparaiso but I couldn't find it on their website. The alternative is $175 per person for private transportation. We didn't book our accommodation through Celebrity so no transfer from them. :(

Some of the hotels in Valparaiso can arrange transport to/from the San Antonio port - for example the Fauna Hotel. Price I was quoted was just over $100 USD (after the conversion - the quote I received was in Chilean Pesos) for a vehicle large enough for two people and luggage (price is per/vehicle, not per/person). If in a larger party, vans are available for a slightly higher cost (though less money when calculating per/person). If you have already booked a hotel, try e-mailing them to see if they can arrange transport; if not - you may want to switch to a hotel that will.

Does anyone know if Celebrity might offer transfers once onboard even if you don't use their air program? I know Princess does in some ports - you just sign up as if it were a shore excursion. You'd probably have to wait for a bus to fill, but it might be an option.

You can purchase Celebrity airport transfers even if you book your own air. However it is generally worthwhile to do a little research and book your own; faster and cheaper (especially if you can find another couple or two to share the cost of a private transfer in your roll call board).
