Embarkation with Carnival with an active 20 month old...

Can anyone shed light on the embarkation process with Carnival out of Galveston?

Last time we cruised, it was just my DH and I, and we were able to get FTTF, so we zipped right through. This time, we are bringing our 3.5 year old and a 20 month old, and while I keep checking (twice a day, every day), I don't think we are going to be able to get FTTF again.

We picked the earliest time slot available (11:30) hoping that would make things more expedient, but after reading some other articles and reviews I'm thinking that maybe later would be better?

Any information or advice is appreciated!

Since you will not be able to access your cabin right away, and may have to wait some time in the boarding area waiting for your zone to be called, it might be better to arrive later, after 1pm. You don't need to change your time, just arrive later. You might also ask on the Carnival board here, as I don't have any experience with Galveston. EM

We went in January with our 15 month old. The lines to get through security were crazy long... I think we got there around 11. We ended up doing the carnival shuttle from the airport and the driver actually got off the bus and walked us the

To the priority line for security check in. We still had to wait in a pretty long line for the check in part but once we got through that it was straight onto the ship. He wasn't waking yet so he did ok and I had him in a carrier to make it easier (stroller had the soda, wine, and some bags).
