Fort Lauderdale Beachfront Hotel mid-December Worth it?

We are looking at staying at the Conrad Fort Lauderdale after our cruise on December 16. Is it worth it to stay in a beachfront hotel in December? What's the weather like at that time of year? Would it be too cold to hang out on the beach? Thanks in advance.

A quick Google search of Ft Lauderdale weather will get you a lot of info. People go to Florida (and stay in beach front hotels)in December because it is warmer than back home. Doesn't mean it can't be cool, though.

From Maine or Canada? You'll probably think the water is warm enough for swimming.

From GA or SC or TX? You'll probably think it is too cold for swimming.

We did a south Florida trip in December several years back. The weather was great! We were able to swim in the ocean but it was a little chilly. The hotel pool was heated so we spent more time in there.
