Last day in dining room always has bad service

Every cruise I’ve been on has had bad service on the last day of the cruise in the dining room. Have others found the same?

No, I've not noticed any differences in service the final evening. But Disembarkation morning service is totally gone; if breakfast is offered that is in the MDR. Seems to be becoming a hit or miss thing.

Not the service but seems the menu selection is often not very good the last night of a cruise.

Same here and not exclusive to Royal, but other lines had the same problem.

first night not so good geting to know what you like water or tea bread and so on the last night is always real good they are right there bang bang looking for that extra tip witch they always get

Agreed. Service is usually fine on last night... menu.... least favorite. Oh well. It's a cruise. I still end up coming home a "bit plumper" than when I left. :cool:

Yes, this is what we have noticed and thus plan to eat in a specially restaurant that night. Since we like traditional dining, we plan it so we can stop by and have coffee and say our goodbyes to table mates.

First night is usually a little rough due to crew change over .

Agree. Lack of selection like on other lines last nite but not poor service...

When taking a B2B, we almost always go to a specialty restaurant the last night of the first leg. ;)

First evening in the MDR is a little slower but not bad service. Service for the last evening in the MDR never. Even the last morning of the cruise in the MDR we've never experience bad or slow service. Not sure if having a table for two in the MDR for every meal has anything to do with it.

I agree with this thats why we now go for the BOGO deal and have the first two nights in the specialty restaurants.

People, not wanting to feel obligated to give an extra tip on the last night, don't show up.
