QM2 Evening Dress Code for Children

We are in the final stages of packing. Having some disagreements with DH as we're planning clothes for children. On the evenings we plan to stay casual, I assume children are also still expected to be in slacks, not shorts? I've packed entirely too much and need to remove some outfits. I think "dressy" shorts are not as important if they will be in slacks in the evening either way. It is a challenge to get us to 4 suitcases for myself and 4 children. At least I don't pack for husband, too! :-)

Most children I have observed over the past xxx many years, do dress smartly. It is not at all unusual to see a toddler in a tiny tux.

I think trousers and shirts for the evenings would be recommended as casual.

Have a great time.

On our recent TA on QM2 there were 60 children on board. I think they must have all been locked in a cupboard during the day as we barely saw any. In the evening all the children I saw were dressed very smartly on formal nights. Young boys in long trousers shirts and tie even suits with waistcoats or tux and little girls in the most beautiful dresses. On the informal evenings, they were still in long trousers and dresses but obviously of an informal nature. I have to add every single child I saw behaved impeccably and were a joy to see dancing in the evenings having a great time.
