norwegian gem port address.....

NCL ships typically used Pier 88, sometimes Pier 90 - used the same address for dropoff location.

For pickup on disembarkation - an alternate location, as used on Mobile App (Carmel or Dial 7 car services ... for a more precise GPS location) is often marked as:

37 Hudson River Greenway

New York, NY 10036

It's the cross street reference for W. 48th Street & 12th Ave, this is on the southbound side. but car services are sometimes not allowed to come in "empty" to pickup - 12th Ave. on the northbound side at W. 48th Street is what we typically used, it's easier & faster for the driver to meet and/or wait for those coming out of cruise terminal with luggage - as it can take 10 to 15 minutes alone just to wait at the entrance ramp into the ship terminal dropoff/pickup area at W. 55th Street, as randsom & stricter security screening are often unannounced, i.e. this weekend due to Fleet Weeks & presence of numerous ships on the Hudson River.

I see you last used Carmel. I priced them yesterday and about same as Dial 7. Any thoughts or preferences? We usually use Dial 7.

Both would be set pick-up time. We are also thinking uber or lyft so we don't have to set time due to how long customs might take. Going to EWR. Thoughts?

Hmmm, Escape is the only ship disembarking on that Sunday at Pier 88, another ship will be on a port stop - terminal pickup & dropoff should be fine ... aside from the normal NCL surprises or not about getting 4,500 pax into the building to get processed by CBP.

I am guessing that you will have at least priority disembarkation, if not escorted walkoff - that should help a great deal, especially if you want to grab a porter like we do these days, speed up the whole process once inside the building. What time is your EWR flight ?

If you are happy with Dial 7 and priced similar like Carmel, stick with them as a repeat customer ... I get a little bonus airline miles with ours, so it's nice but not a deal breaker but profile & trips taken, all in their database & easy.

We only book them ahead when going to MCT and I just launch the mobile App on the smartphone, once we exit the Customs area & begin the walk toward 12th Ave & request a pickup ... last month, they had several available cars/driver nearby & will be there in 6 or 7 minutes (actually, closer to 10 minutes) - which is just the same as using Uber (we have a Lyft account, just in case)

Sunday mornings, it's a fairly simple & straight forward drive out via Lincoln Tunnel nearby out to EWR, should be about 30 minutes - many are saying their fares & prices are better, give them a chance if you like to try - and, do a short & brief trip report for us on the East Coast forum on the experience.

Unless you have a tight timeline to watch, enjoy the hot breakfast on arrival, wait a bit - I would only do the Express Walkoff with luggage if getting escorted to the building entrance, not only to the gangways - as that's another 1/4 to 1/3 mile stretch thru the length of the pier to get downstairs.

Then request an Uber/Lyft or just call Dial 7 by phone for a pickup, all of them should be there in less than 10 minutes ... sitting near the entrance/traffic lights by W. 55th Street to get into the pier can take 2 or 3 minutes for signals to change, and port security never allowed them to loiter or hang out, exception being the taxis when it is early & they already dropped off arriving pax, at their discretion based on security/threat level for the piers.

i'm using Super Shuttle both times ( hotel and cruise port) but not sure on what address to use for the port. i'll just use "Manhattan cruise terminal" for my pick up .
you can do that or read post 2

Thanks.

For pickup, are you saying across the street from the dropoff? I know last trip we exited the terminal and were shooed across the street as they wouldn't let cars in that area closest to the exit, you had to cross the street.

Super Shuttle has more of a "general" time, than any car service. So be sure to factor in extra.

Odds are 50:50 each time we come back into MCT for disembarakation, last Fall was Marathon Sunday but using porter's services, they told us car services are allowed to come in & had us wait on street level (Hudson Greenway) ... except that it was jammed with traffic waiting at the W. 55th Street traffic lights to turn & come in.

Our Carmel driver called & explained, asked us to walk across 12th Avenue to meet him - it was still a mess.

Last month, porter escorting us thru Custom said the same but woiuld drop us off at the spot we wished ... piled our 10 bags at W. 48th Street and we walked acrossed 12th Avenue ourselves ... Carmel driver met us mid-city block on W. 48th Street, between 12th & 11th Avenue ... That's ideal for us to head for Queens and for you to head to EWR, driver go down the block & turn right on 11th Avenue, south for 10 blocks to one of the lesser known/used entrance into the Lincoln Tunnel for Rt. 3 West to the airport.

Majority of the car services & Uber/Lyft drivers in NYC are using real-time GPS assisted traffic/navigation app to help them select the preferred route options on each assigned trip.

Out of NYC this weekend but the Escape did arrive back right on time, came up the Hudson around 7 am & docking close to 7:30 am, should've been cleared within 30 minutes & Express/Priority Walkoff shoud've been underway by 8 to 8:15 am ... with a bit of luck & using porter's services, should've been cleared of CBP by 9:15 to 9:30 on 12th Avenue and dropped off at EWR's airlne terminal by 10:15 to 10:30 Weather is strictly out of NCL's direct control, FAA has ground stops/ATC delays of 75 minutes at EWR today and 30 minutes at JFK.

I think you should be okay, dont worry too much - enjoy the cruise.
