We are a group of 16 on the Jan 15th sailing of the Star Flyer from Phuket Thailand. This will be my 4th trip to Thailand and I am looking for some recent info on several topics.

The best place and method to exchange money. I know banks are the best, but what about the airport or exchange houses. What gets the best rate cash or travelers checks? I have heard that ATMs offer a good rate, if anybody has any recent info I would appreciate it.

Any items to bring aboard the ship that would add to the cruise that you wish you had?

Gifts to the crew that would be appreciated, in addition to regular tips?

We are staying at the Montien Riverside Hotel in Bangkok. How was the food at the hotel, shopping for jewlery and tailor shops, and restaurants close to the hotel???

Any other info you can pass along would be most helpful.
