I got the invite for the March 24 Glory and booked the Elite cruise.

Has anyone been on an Elite cruise and what should I expect?

The lady I talked to at Carnival wasn't real helpful but told me she had heard it was wonderful.

Anyone????

I hadn't either. I've been on Premier and an Ultra (thanks to my wife's play).

The only thing I know is that they will pick me up at the airport, it includes a DOU card anywhere on the ship and an excursion.

It's a balcony cabin and I only paid port charges.

I have done numerous premier cruises, a few Ultra's and one Elite. The Elite was on the Sunshine in 2015. We were given an Ocean Suite and $1000 cash, along with the free drinks anywhere, free parking, and excursion. We only paid port charges $218. Great deal. Have received a few Elite offers over the years, but the dates have not worked as they are always last minute. Did not get this Elite offer. Enjoy your cruise.

It's been quite a while since I remember anyone posting on this board they had received an Elite cruise invitation. Here is an earlier thread someone created.

I'm sure we will since we will have an excursion together, steakhouse dinner together and I believe dinner in the dining room together.

From what I have heard they try to keep the Eliter's together.

I can't wait. I just wish the flights were a little better on Southwest.

Sounds like fun. My name is Jill, I'm from Fort Worth, TX. I will be traveling with my cousin Jana. Hubby couldn't get away this time.

I'm sorry to be nosey, but could someone give me a ballpark of how much money you would have to spend in the casino for a cruise offer like this? 😉

It's not how much you lose or win. It has to do with how much you play.

I have been on two cruises this year. On my New Years cruise I played slots and got 8500 points and ended up winning a $2500 jackpot the last night. I played Let It Ride for many hours playing $5 and $10 on the 3 card. I won about $800. Ended up for the cruise up almost $4000. But I played about 5 - 7 hours a day.

My next cruise I played a lot of slots and never won or lost but got over 17000 points. I also played some Let It Ride but not much since it was always busy. Probably played a total of 5 or 6 hours a day and the rest of the time enjoyed the cruise.

On the other hand my wife probably played 8 - 10 hours playing blackjack with $25 minimum bets and she got nothing.

I have heard that Carnival is trying to get new Cruisers. So they are offering better offers to newer cruisers (Red category) better offers and Gold, Platinum and Diamond lesser offers.

I am a Platinum member but for some reason they have me with two VIFP numbers (one as red and one as platinum), which I combined after I booked the Elite cruise.

So I will be honest to say I don't know how I got the invite since my wife plays more, plays longer and has more days at sea than I and she didn't get the offer.

I guess what I heard about better offers for newer cruisers could be true but that is just a hunch.

All the same, I'm going on the Elite and probably alone. But I am going to try to have a fabulous time (I know I will).

I also am platinum and I do play a lot. Way more than I should. Sometimes I win sometimes I lose. I have had several of these elite cruise invites but this is the first time I could get on one. Sometimes they were sold out by the time I contacted them. I think we all will have a good time Ron. See ya in the casino!

Thanks for the responses! I've never gambled before and didn't have a clue. I hope you have an awesome time!

First of all, have a great cruise, WIN BIG!;p

Reading the bottom of one of those casino mailers that come in with the 'Premier offers', it said,,,

get 7500 pts and you get invited to Premier cruises, get 7500 pts on a Premier cruise from Dec 9 to May 31(?) and you will be invited to ultra cruises in the fall '18 and spring '19'!

No mention of elite, so I asked one of the casino reps on a Premier cruise, and you could tell, they didn't know much about Elite, except state 'they are very few, and they are the really big gamblers!'

I've seen a few people on the premier cruises with us that have over 30,000 pts, on a 7 day cruise, so imagine they're getting the invites!

Talked with a woman who had 30,000 pts on the 3rd day of a 5 day cruise, I had 10,000, so I asked her what she got compared to me, she said,,'not much, just the Chef's table'! Asked another woman who hit $11,000 on a slot, what she got, she said nothing, so I told her to go over to the casino reps and tell them, 'offer me nothing, and I go home with the total $11,000.!' ;) Don't know if she did? You know the saying, 'squeaky wheel', so sometimes you gotta speak up!

As far as only reds not golds/plats getting the offers, don't think for a minute that other cruise lines don't poach gamblers from each other! I've heard NCL is after CCL gamblers to build up their club, so CCL will have to take care of their own, or loose them!

We left RCL club Royale cause they started to offer less, and will leave CCL in the dust if they don't offer up what we feel they should!

Hopefully CCL is listening cause we aren't quiet about our 'loyalty is based on PERKS'!

We'd suggest you do the same, go where you get the best offers! ;p

Happy cruising all!:D

  • 4 weeks later...

Just got an offer for an Elite Cruise. Here are the dates and location. Unfortunately I won't be able to take the offer but it sounds great (free balcony room, transfers from airport to port, free drinks, free excursion, many other perks). Hopefully I get another offer in the future. FYI, I'm only Red VIFP member so it may also be random on who they send these offers too. I get premier offers all the time and even got an Ultra offer last year. I can also guarantee that I am not a big Whale either. Happy sailing for those who are able to go!

I got one of the elite balcony cruise offers also. We are trying to plan to leave out of New Orleans on the Carnival dream on august 12. I emailed Carnival but haven’t received a response yet. Does anyone know how long they take to get back to you to confirm a booking? I emailed them Saturday and got an automated response saying someone would get back to me within 3 days, but I haven’t heard anything yet. We just aren’t sure what to make of this and I want to get all the details I can before confirming a booking since any charges paid are non refundable.

We just booked this one today. We got the same email and no one had contacted us so my hubby emailed back and asked when we would hear something and within an hour he sent us back the phone number to call and book.

I also put in my request on Saturday. I wrote again just asking if they received my request. I was told then by e-mail yesterday (April 19) to call a number at 10am. I DID and I GOT IT! I am going on the Glory August 11, 2018 out of Miami ELITE!

Can you tell me please if they have drawings during the Elite cruise like they did on the Ultra cruise? Had so much fun on the Ultra, would love to be invited to the Elite cruise.

I am sure this ELITE cruise offer will have drawings. The lady that booked it for me told me I am very lucky. She has never seen an ELITE offer with so much free stuff included. Drinks, Specialty restaurant, Parking at the Pier or pick up at the airport, shore excursion, Free Cheers package and even free WIFI! I am so excited. I have never been on an Ultra or Elite cruise. I have only been on one Premier cruise and I also had on booked already for September 2018 so I will be cruising in August for free and then again in September on a Premier!!!
