Help planning a fjord cruise with my mum

I am a 57 year old female who wants to take my young at heart 85 year old mum on a Fjord cruise next spring. She is pretty mobile but gets tired if on her feet for too long (she has new knees) and doesn't have the energy levels she used to (but won't admit it!). She would like to be able to see varied sights but can really only manage morning excursions so she can relax in afternoons and therefore enjoy evening entertainment on board. There are so many ports of call in Norway that I am now totally confused! Please could anyone advise me of the best ports of call for a 7 day cruise that would give her a variation of sights on no-more-than half day excursions?

My mum wants to take a 7 night cruise to the Norwegian fjords. There are so many ports of call - could anyone advise me which are the must-see ports of call if she is only likely to take that one cruise please?

You'd be better off asking these questions - all more or less the same question anyway - on just one thread. Preferably this one, because it's got the useful information on it.

Geiranger for mountains and long sail-in and sail-out, Bergen for city and/or excursion to Elgar's house (if she likes that sort of thing), Flam for railway (or perhaps not if she has dicky knees, it's a big step into the train) or a nice potter round the village, museum, shop, lovely views from the ship.

There's only a limited itinerary on 7-dayers anyway, because they haven't time to go that far north.
