Disembarking in Europe?

Hi all! My DH and I will be on the Horizon out of Barcelona, and are hoping to catch a 9:30am train from BCN to Paris. We've never done self assist to disembark a cruise, but I thought it meant you could get right off the ship. According to a recent post here, it may not necessarily mean that! So, my question is specifically for those of you that have done a Carnival trip in Europe (since it isn't a normal destination for Carnival) - do they offer self assist? If they do, will I actually be off the ship earlier?

I did research, and there seems to be a consensus that the 9:30 train should be easy to catch, I'm just hoping to hear about Carnival's disembarkation specifically.

One problem may be long lines to get a taxi to the station. Have you asked on the Ports of Call boards? EM

On the Vista last year they had self assist and for Platinum it started at 6am.

I don't see any issues making the train.

We had no prblem getting off the ship early. Just long line at the taxi stand.

The taxi line moves fast though.

Great! So it sounds like my only dilemma is to book a car service or wait on the taxi. Thanks for all the help!

No customs or immigration to deal with, so there isn't a delay there.

Last year on a cruise ending in Barcelona no problem getting off early and quickly getting taxi

Taxi service is Excellent in Barcelona.

Our last time was off Vista, Athens -> Barcelona, our flight was at 11:30am and we made it with plenty of time to spare.

9:30am is a little early for my comfort...but should be doable provided you can get off by 7am at the latest.

The cab ride is about 20 minutes, depending on traffic of course.
