Upgraded to Cloud 9 Spa Balcony and would like to know more about it....

Hi, so my mother and I will be traveling on the Horizon this July and we were just upgraded to a Cloud 9 Spa balcony (courtesy of my casino game play yasss). Anyways, I know there are some amenities that come with being in a spa balcony and was wondering if anyone can tell me all that you get as I have not received all the information on this. I want to be able to explain it all to my mother at a later date. I'm surprising her as she still thinks we are in an ocean view room on the 1st deck. She's going to love this.

Thanks for any information.

Ignore the rudeness of the previous person. MOST of us are pretty nice here. :)

Our last couple of cruises were in spa balcony cabins. You will love it! The cabin and balcony are normal size. But the decor is fancier, you get a fluffier beach towel that’s yellow instead of blue, upgraded slippers, upgraded bathrobe, and free spa quality samples of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, etc. You also get priority reservations in the spa. The spa is for 18 and over so it’s very quiet in that area. You also get access to the thermal suites. This includes the steam rooms, dry saunas, wet saunas, and the jacuzzi. Even though it’s not a Thelasso therapy pool like the Dream class has, it’s very very similar. It has mineral water, numerous hot jets, and it’s bigger than a normal jacuzzi. But it’s not as big as the Thelasso therapy pool and it doesn’t have the built in loungers. But that hot bubbly mineral water, it feels so good on achy muscles. You will love it. And definitely try the spa showers. They are huge marble walk in showers with numerous jets. Much better than what’s in the cabin. And there’s fresh towels, big mirrors, and hair dryers there. Perfect for getting ready on formal nights.

LOL. Thanks so much. I’ve been on cruise critic for many years and know about the rudeness. Ehhh I’m from NY so I know all about rude ppl. Glad I’m not.

Thanks for the info below. Exactly what I was looking for. Someone who’s been in the cabin and could tell me more intimate details. Now I know my mother will really like this cabin choice. And to be on a level higher then deck 8 which we’ve never been will be a big change for us.

Can’t wait. :D

That's a great upgrade, I'm jealous but confused. We have a spa balcony on the Horizon booked for this holiday weekend. A few months after I booked, I noticed casino fares were being offered for this sailing date, so I called both the casino desk and diamond desk several times to see if I could get my booking changed to a casino fare. Both told me I would have to give up my spa balcony for a regular balcony to get the casino fare and perks.

I didn't want to downgrade the cabin, so we stayed in the spa cabin. Knowing that Carnival can give different answers based on who you talk to, I received many different excuses why I couldn't be accommodated, but all with the same final answer: no.

We'll enjoy our cruise, the spa cabin is a first for us, and we'll be on the newest ship in the fleet, all fine things, even though the itinerary kinda sux. I will wonder how Carnival couldn't switch my fare so we could get the casino perks and stay in the spa balcony, while a line likes MSC can give us their top level loyalty perks on our first sailing with them. I really thought loyalty meant something.

Enjoy your cruise, the spa cabin and the casino!

We were in the spa balcony cabin on the Magic in February and agree with all the previous posters, you will love the spa cabins. There was a private elevator I remember to get to the spa and I really loved the heated loungers, so relaxing. Also, had my hair done a couple to times and the hair products they use and sell were wonderful. Just enjoy your cruise and take advantage of all the wonderful perks of a spa cabin.

Hi and thanks for the info below.

I actually don't know how it all works, but from what I was told I received this upgrade because of my casino playing from last year I'm sure. They also did not give me any Casino cash with the offer which is what I had really wanted. Instead they pointed me to this Ocean Players website and told me to write a message to them asking if they could give me any slot play or credits to play in the casino and sure enough by the next day I received an email stating they would give me $125 in Casino cash that I could use on the slots or tables. Now that's what I was looking for.

When I tried contacting Carnival months ago they told me I didn't have any offers showing up. Then a few weeks ago I received an email about an upgrade based on my Casino play. Idk.

Anyways, enjoy your cruise as well.

Ooooo private elevator. I like stuff like that. I'm eager to see what being on the 12th deck feels like. We've never been above the Lido deck before.

We will defn enjoy. Thanks for your post.

You might want to check with carnival, but I heard on here if you get an upgrade to a spa room.....you get the room, but not the private spa access. You get the room extra like shampoo, robe and slippers though. If this is correct ....can you verify it? I am wondering if it's true

Thanks

All the spa rooms are far forward, we felt a lot of movement up there. More than any other cruise we've been on.

If they paid anything towards the upgrade or used ES price adjustment credits to get the cabin then they get the full use of all the amenities and benefits of the spa cabin.

If the "upgrade" is from a guaranteed TBA booking or compensation for some sort of goof, any use of in spa benefits will be at the discretion of the spa manager.

Yes that’s correct. I paid a discounted amount extra for the upgrade. Small amount for the both of us that was good enough for me not to pass up or else I would have kept our Oceanview cabins. They told me I could pay less to upgrade based on playing in the Casino. So I took it as we love balcony cabins.

We absolutely loved the heated tile loungers! Take an MP3 player or your phone with relaxing music and headphones! You will think you are in heaven!!

Just got off Horizon and state in a spa balcony. My opinion is it’s not worth the extra money!! The spa area is much smaller than the Dream class we were not able to use the faculty because of the size. Only 9 heated ceramic loungers all of the steam rooms , whirlpool and loungers are in the same area making the area loud and crowded had to wait everyone we went on a lounger!!! If the area was only for spa cabins it might work but anybody can by a pass yes they are limited but add to the crowding!

Thanks for your feedback. I'm sure we will like it anyway knowing me and my mother. I'm glad I'm in a balcony cabin for a few more dollars if anything.

Yes it can be crowded sometimes, just like any spa or gym. But if you just go at the right times it’s really nice. We would go early in the morning right after breakfast and it was practically empty. They close at 10 so around 9:00pm - 10:00 pm we had the place to ourselves too. It tends to be pretty crowded from 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. That down time between lunch and dinner is a popular time to go. And then after dinner time from 7:00pm - 9:00 pm was busy too. The place is a ghost town on formal nights for the entire evening. And it’s virtually empty on port days while you’re still in port.

I think a lot of cruisers are pretty upset because they consolidated all of the amenities into several rooms instead of half a dozen rooms like it used to be on the Dream class. And they made the Thelasso therapy pool smaller and more like an ordinary jacuzzi (with the exception of it bring a mineral water pool.) But if you go into it with a positive attitude and try to make the best of it, it’s still really nice. Just go at the right times. :)

The room was fantastic as was our room steward I’m just saying keep your expectations of the spa low,

. Others said go at off times and yes that will work but those times did not fit in my schedule. Port days are always easier to get a lounger but it will

Be crowded and loud!

We're on the Magic in 2 days in a spa cabin... Can you tell me what time the thermal suite area opens on embarkation day? We had a spa cabin on the Dream a few years ago, and it seems like they may have had those things closed until after they had done all their first day spa tours. Thanks!

Most of the Cloud 9 features are closed for viewing by the tours until after muster or the spa drawing, whichever is later on embarkation day.
