Rum and Cigar tour through Royal Caribbean

Has anyone done this tour? I have a few questions. My husband is a cigar smoker and I thought this might be fun for him, and I am always game for something new.

How long does this last?

Can you continue to use the Hop On Hop Off bus all day long?

Was it decent?

Thank you for your input.

As you may or may not be able to tell from my handle, I am a cigar smoker as well. Have stayed in KW but never cruised there.

Are there any reviews on this tour? It looks like it might be interesting - Rodriguez Cigars is the only place that I will buy local hand rolleds and the owner, Danny is a good guy. There is a cigar factory near me and I've rolled my own before but if he's never done it, he may enjoy it. Looks like other than the Rum and Cigar portion, the HOHO is at your leisure......

Haven't been able to find a review. But if you like the Rodriguez Cigars and that's where this goes, it might be fun. He has not rolled any himself but has enjoyed chatting with cigar rollers in SanJuan and Tampa. And rum is always good to taste. LOL

Thank you for your response.

There are two rum distilleries in Key West which are close enough to the docks and to each other that you could hit each of them:

This one has free tours and a mojito-making class ---> https://www.keywestlegalrum.com/

While this one does tastings ---> http://www.papaspilar.com/#/papaspilar/landing

The latter one has a great gift shop and the dark rum is very smooth, and they donate part of the proceeds back to the town.

And if you'd rather pair cigars and wine ---> https://www.corkandstogie.com/ top, right-hand side of Duval.

They also have a great selection of craft beers. Great place to hang out on their deck and people watch.......

Awesome... Now I know how we will spend our day. I missed the sale with the excursion as Royal is redoing their site and it is a mess right now. It was $51 which was kind of pricey for what you got, but figured what the heck. Now it's $64 and dh said not worth it, though I still think it would've been fun. I think we will just go to Rodriguez on our own (no cigar rolling but oh well) hit the rum places and to the cigar/wine place. We love craft beer too.

Since the excursion includes Rodriguez Cigars, it’s a good bet they’ll probably be rolling cigars - that’s also interesting to see if you’ve never seen it before and you don’t have to participate in the tour.
