Maderia port terminal

Recommended Posts

We will be ont he Viking Sea with a port of call in early April.

Is there only one pier for ships?

We have a morning ship tour, but in afternoon would like to do some exploring on our own.

Can one walk or taxi or shuttle into town?

Ship leaves at 6pm.

Just one pier, but its long and most of it is along a sea wall, so the walk into town can be some distance. Its easily identified on Google maps or “whats in port” website.

However some ships do dock landside and once off ship its a 10 minute walk into Funchal.

There are taxis available. To the centre should be no more than €5.

Thank you so much for the quick respone.

A taxi will work just fine to get us to town and back in the afternoon.
