Hi Everyone!

I will be on the Escape in Oct with my Wife and two boys!

I was wondering are there any must see or do things on board from past Escape guests? I will also be staying in the Forward Facing Penthouse so I will have Haven access :)

the ropes area is nice. Also Thermal Spa is great area too. In front of the ship and relaxing.

H2O zone in back of ship was great. Food at Cagney's was very good.

Walking the waterfront is fun and there are places to sit and look at water as well as the back of the ship too. Enjoy I know I did.

We had a forward facing penthouse on the Breakaway in 2017 and loved it BUT we were on deck 9 and the outside crew bar was below us and woke us up several nights. We complained and they said they closed the area but it happened again. But the room was wonderful (had the biggest shower I've ever seen) and the Haven is AWESOME. Enjoy!!!!

On embarkation day, have the concierge staff book you dinners at the complimentary dinner shows in the Supper Club. (The concierge staff will escort you to the Supper Club and seat you before the general admission doors open).

On embarkation day, have the concierge staff book you a seat at one of the comedy shows. Go early. Sit in the front row. Early shows are family oriented. Late shows are 18+.

Ropes course and walking the two planks over the edge of the ship.

Water park. Great water slides free fall and out over the edge of the ship.

Something to consider,,, on embarkation day, immediately after muster, head directly up to the Havens sundeck as fast as possible (i.e., dash up the stairs). Grab some loungers up at the front forward facing glass to enjoy the views of Manhattan and the SOL as you sail away. It is a beautiful view. 2 loungers for the family should be good.

We had a forward facing Havens on the Escape and loved the room. The separate living room was great extra space (at the cheapest Havens price).

You do know that it is The Haven not Havens, right? I notice you always answering questions about it, yet you don’t know the name.

Yup. we stay in suites about 1/3 of our cruises (can't afford to be there on every cruise,,, especially on our upcoming Bliss cruise where the prices are sky high). Actually, most of the time, the intent is "Haven's",,,, but that's a couple of extra key strokes on the phone. Laziness and an learned autocorrect on the phone. Will try to be more accurate in the future.

I loved the specialty dining on the Escape. probably best cruise food I've had.

captain and engineer did a Q&A in Landshark Bar, very cool.

loved the Jersey Boys dinner show.

the Irish place had good comfort food, more casual than MDR. dogs, burgers, fish and chips.

I'm a parrothead and went to margaritaville daily to get my jimmy buffett music fix. great view.

Save a night to eat at Food Republic! It's a la carte, but doesn't work with the SDP.

Or for lunch. (All 5 times I’ve eaten there have been lunches.)

Not sure if they always do this, but for haven guests, Food Republic was 50% off for dinner on embarkation day yesterday. We took advantage of it and loved it.

We had planned on Margaritaville for a few lunches, but they switched to a $16 cover! Not paying $32 for a plate of nachos to share. Such a bummer. It was free on embarkation lunch for haven guests but we weren't in the mood for it. Enjoying Pinchos for lunch on the waterfront, I'd say, is a must do!

District Brewhouse was our favorite place. And we did order a couple times from the Food Republic menu. The sliders were very filling - almost too filling as a snack late afternoon for a couple of us sharing. Love Escape btw.

On another thread, someone who just returned from the Escape says the Food Republic menu has some changes. The Pub Sliders are now off the menu along with some other items. Also reported there were several new items.

Hope someone who has just returned can post a picture of updated Food Republic menu for us. DH loved those Pub Sliders:(

Ate there last night. Didn't see any sliders. The menu seemed basically all Asian. Chinese, Japanese, Indian. It was really good but I didn't eat there on the old menu so nothing to compare.

Not sure if they have a printed menu, but it's all on a tablet on the table. You order and pay as you go.

They did have a printed menu at the door in addition to the tablets on our last several cruises, but perhaps it's too new now. It will be interesting to see what the new menu is if someone can get us a photo. We will be back on the Escape for our 7th cruise on her in April. First 6 cruises had the same menu. FR has been a big reason we kept going back on this ship.

Glad you enjoyed eating there. Do you remember what items you liked?
