How's the weather on a Danube cruise in October?

We went on a river cruise from Prague to Budapest a few years ago in October. The first few days in Prague it was really chilly and rainy. It did clear up a little for the rest of the cruise. I had brought along a jacket that was semi water proof but not too heavy and it was perfect. I have such fond memories of that cruise, have a great time!

We just got back this week. It was quite cool some nights and mornings (9 Celsius one day) . On deck, some people had gloves and hats. Layers are the best as it will warm up during the day.... and be prepared for rain.

I suggest taking gloves, a warm scarf and a coat with a hood or a hat. We just returned from a week on the Danube from Nuremberg to Budapest and the mornings were very cold and at times, windy - no rain but quite chilly. The afternoons were more pleasant.

The local guides all said that it was too early to be that cold. Check the 10 day weather forecast before you leave and pack accordingly.
