Upscale lodging in Seward, if any

We are sailing out of Seward next summer. Would appreciate recommendations as to better lodging. Thank you!

"Better" is very subjective in Alaska. I liked Windsong Lodge but it is very "Alaskan". It is also outside of town but they run a shuttle in.

Thank you, Coral. Windsong looks just the ticket. Plus, I like the look of their glacier tour affiliations.

 

Yes, "better" is relative but Your rec looks good.

Joy is picky about where she sleeps, so we booked in Windsong Lodge next summer after looking over their pages and talking with a TA.

Not in Seward, but about an hour away, is the Alyeska Hotel. Very nice, highly recommended.

This is the nicest hotel I have seen in Alaska.

 

While I like Windsong and recommend it, there are benefits of staying in town also and I would also stay at Harbor 360 hotel. It used to be a Holiday Inn Express. It is right in the heart of Seward. Both have their benefits.

I don't know if this is an option for you to consider, but we found a lot of nice house rentals on AirBNB, VRBO, and HomeAway. We ended up renting a cute cottage for the few days we are spending post-cruise in Seward, and it was competitive with the hotel rates. They aren't exactly luxury, but many certainly seemed more upscale than the motels in town.
