Anyone sailed with Wind Star (the vessel) recently?

Hi everyone

We are about to set forth to cross the Atlantic from Lisbon to Barbados aboard Wind Star in 3 weeks, not having been in a WS ship since 2008 - our recent crossings (to get back to our little sailboat in Antigua) have been with Star Clipper. So we are wondering if anyone has cruised in Wind Star of late and can provide any tips or comment as we are a bit out of date with the WS experience espcially as the company ownership has changed a few times in the interim. We have not seen any remarks recently relating to this particular vessel.

2 years ago is not terribly recent but I'm pretty sure it is at least the current management. I don't think there have been a lot of changes but I will say one thing. When I crossed on the Star there was a gentleman running a seminar called "Writing your life story". It was excellent! Be on the lookout for enrichment activities and be ready to take part if you have any spark of interest in them. You can always drop out if it doesn't turn out to be your cup of tea.

We were on the Windstar in November 2015 under the old management and loved it. We were on it again in December 2016 under the new management and it was even better.

Great personal, small ship service. Comfortable cabins and great food.

The officers and staff are very friendly, and could not do enough for us.

I was on the Wind Star 2 months ago. The ship is generally in very good condition and the staff were great. One or two of the sails were broken so not much "sailing", but if you don't mind that then it will be ok.
