Time to scuba dive in key west?

I’m sailing on the Disney Wonder in December 2018. I would like to scuba dive in key west but I’m worried I won’t have enough time. The boat docks at 11:30am and leaves at 4:45pm.

Has anyone successfully been scuba diving in key west during that small window? Thanks.

Can't help you on the diving issue, but I can tell you that the DCL Captains sometimes extend their time in Key West to allow guests and some of the crew extra shore time. We were there on Magic in '09 and were scheduled to depart at 7:30pm, but instead remained until 2:30am.

most typical 2 tank trips will run 4.5 yours so your window is tight

and most regularly scheduled afternoon trips leave at 1pm so you run out of time

but private charter is possible if you want to pay

opinion: having been diving in the greater KW area it is not one of my favorite locations altho the Vandenberg is cool if you have the time and skills (can be a deep dive)
