Whats the possibility of seeing the Daytona 500

on Sunday 12/25/2017

on the big screen

While I have never seen a NASCAR event on MUTS, one could always hope if you follow the sport. Do you have the date correct? I don’t recall the Datona 500 taking place on Christmas day.

It's held in February this year, so probably February next year.

I was cruising with some folks who were interested in sprint cup,

which was being shown on espn.

(this was on a cruise from Ft. Lauderdale)

Sprint Cup wasn't available on the ship because the ship had

something like 'ESPN Carribbean', which was different than

ESPN in the US.

Your mileage may vary. Objects in the mirror may be closer than

they appear. etc

Whats the possibility of seeing the Daytona 500

Probably not. It is not mentioned as one of the sporting events in the Princess FAQ's. It depends if Princess has the license from Fox to pick up the signal and show it. If your ship has Club Fusion it might be shown there at the bar, if it is carried by ESPN International. However, Club Fusion is not normally open mid afternoon, and especially if the day is a port day.

"We offer live satellite reception of MSNBC, CNBC, Fox News and BBC World. In some instances and based on sailing itineraries we offer Sky News and Sky Sports News in lieu of MSNBC and Fox News. Along with a movie channel featuring a wide selection of first-run movies, we also provide the latest sitcoms and dramas, an onboard version of the Discovery Channel, and a wide selection of special programming, including the Academy Awards®. Plus, for sports fans, we offer several major sporting events such as the Super Bowl® , BCS college bowl games, NBA Finals and the NCAA basketball tournament."

We are avid nascar fans and have never seen a race on the ship. As mentioned earlier, ESPN is not the same. They do report the outcomes of the race on several sports shows that we have seen on the ship.

I've sailed on race day in the past and I've never seen it on MUTS or anywhere on the ship. As load as some of the movies are I can only imagine what a NASCAR race would sound like if the cranked it up!

I'll jump overboard if I ever hear DW bleat out boogity boogity boogity on a cruise ship.. :D

And I'm a big fan!
