First day dining Vista

Thanks for all the comments! This is our first Carnival cruise. We have always done the buffet that first day, and every time we regret it. But on our last cruise (Disney), the experience really set a negative vibe for the entire cruise. People were fighting over tables. It was like people had never seen food before, and their buffet food isn't even very good.

Anyone know what is open for lunch when u get on the ship? Any sit down?

It depends on what you mean by "sit down." If you mean, full service (someone takes your order and brings you your food), no, there is not. The options mentioned above (JiJi's, Cucina, BBQ) are not buffet, but they are not full service, either.

Not sure what your definition of full service is..... But in our minds...Cuciana is most is definitely close to full service on embarkation day???!! We ate there for lunch on embarkation day in November. We were seated at our own table...had a server who brought bread, water, took our order, etc. Granted you had to choose what you wanted on a slip. It is a limited lunch menu....but still very good, nice atmosphere and very relaxing!!

On the Sunshine, you had to stand in line and turn in the slip, then they brought out your food. Close, but not quite, full service. I just wanted to level-set expectations.

Not on Vista.... Led us to a table....gave us water and bread and explained the process with the slip... Came back picked up the slip...and then it was like any other seated service restaurant... Strange how the Sunshine differed!! Are you talking about the Pasta Bar during the cruise...or your experience on Embarkation day??
