P&O Cruises Raises Daily Gratuities -- Again

Both P&O and Fred Olsen have raised the tips this week. P&O's go up just before our cruise.

We're not on Fred until summer, but already we've heard from them that if we want to pay the tips now, then we won't be included in the rise.

I can't abide tipping- it's never come naturally to me, and it all used to be about sixpence left in the saucer. It's such a big thing with cruising, so we prefer to just pay up front and forget it- but I'll never agree with it.

Well another example of why I prefer the Aussie system of just having it all in the fare. It is prepaid and there are no up-charging after the booking.

Exactly, Mic, and it's not mentioned at booking- that's why it comes as a shock to first timers, especially if they've been with a line like Thomson before!

I will now be paying the higher price for our P&O Azure cruise in September. It is only a short cruise luckily.
