Tortola beach excursion

The only specific Tortola beach excursion being offered on our forthcoming cruise is to Long Beach. Aghast, it has no facilities whatsoever !!!! No chairs umbrellas etc. - not even a bar! To get to a toilet requires going on a shuttle bus to a nearby airport. I cannot believe that P&O find this acceptable to passengers and even want to charge £25 for it.

Has anyone done this excursion and what did the think? Can anyone recommend another beach with all facilities please?

Cane Garden beach is the one with all the facilities. You'll find loads of people from the ship going there, so plenty of taxis to share and never a problem getting back. Think it's 8$ pp each way. There's wifi, several bars, food places and though it gets quite busy we still like it. The other beach we've been to is Brewers Bay but it was too quiet for us as well.

Brewers Bay just suited us, there is a small cafe/bar with toilet facilities. Sun loungers can be hired and there is plenty of shade to the rear of the beach. Only downside swimming can be a tad dangerous if the sea is rough.

We took an American style school bus with open sides which left from the end of the quay. It included an island tour with a characterful driver and a stop at Cane Garden beach.

It was 20 or 25 USD each and worth the money.

Really easy to get to Cane Garden Bay ( it is beautiful and you might be lucky and get to see the pelicans diving in the sea there ) Just go outside the port where all the Jeepney buses are and you will be directed to a bus for that destination. I cant remember the exact cost but was not much and the beach has cafe, toilets, and loungers and umbrellas for hire. The bus driver will tell you the time for going back but I think the buses leave about every half hour anyway if you wanted to take a different one back..just hang on to your tickets.
