Big surprise from Cunard!

I received an email today which began "Big surprise from Cunard! Please do not miss out on THIS." It lists Sailing Soon Savings. The voyage I looked at is QE July 1 for 12 nights to Norway, with balcony staterooms starting at $3759. This compares to a brochure price of - wait for it - $3899.

I guess it is a big surprise: that Cunard would so breathlessly hype such a pathetic discount. Or am I just in a mood today?

This is probably against all netiquette, but:

Marketing has its own logic. Whatever method gets the cabin sold, is the right method.

Well, that's $140 extra toward a spa treatment at Canyon Ranch on board!
