Nassau

You can safely walk around the port shopping area...good way to kill a couple hours...unless you venture outside of the "touristy" areas, you are as safe there as anywhere else. Many will stay on the ship and make use of that which you've paid for on a relatively uncrowded day!

We really enjoyed Ardastra Gardens. Make sure to take pictures with the flamingoes -- which are walking loose and you can walk right among them -- and feed the beautiful little lorry parrots. We spent 5 days in Nassau last summer and never felt unsafe. Just use the same safely precautions you would use anywhere: stick together, don't stay out late at night, that kind of thing.

We spent day shopping in the port area and walked to the local beach. felt safe throughout the day,,,not there in evening.

Shopping seemed very expensive and the local beach not much to write home about... Bins not emptied etc.

Maybe we should have ventured further afield as Nassau was a disappointment for us.

I’ve been 5 times, had a great time at some gorgeous beaches. I wasn’t thrilled with the Hilton, but Atlantis, Melia and RIU were gorgeous.
