Pier at coco cay

I guess I’ll forever be 5 for 5 making it to the island. I’ll post pictures in a few days, but I’d guess a completed pier in early 2019 is possible.

FWIW, the pier is no guarantee that you will be able to dock in the future

We missed Castaway Cay on DCL 2 out of 3 cruises despite it having a pier. Those who think having a pier will guarantee they make it to CocoCay are misinformed.
Guess what, there is no guarantee that you dock anywhere. A pier only increases your odds of stopping there. I don't think there is a port in the world that hasn't been missed by some ship sometimes..

Very few piers are unprotected though.

Not to mention that the channel is fairly narrow, not allowing much room for error.

Notwithstanding that, as I always say, where there is a will there is a way.

Exactly. That was the point I was making to the OP who thinks they’re going to make the port because of the new pier. I’m pointing out that isn’t the case.

The target was September, this month, to be finished. Than it was November, now it is January. My guess it will be done by June 2020.....

The original target was "now" - September 2018. :o:o

LOL, then yep, that qualifies as a delay. I hope it's done by April.

Personally, we are looking forward to tendering to an island (we have yet to experience this). And if we don't this year, no big deal;)

Your not missing anything exciting. It makes port days much more hectic and tendering can be very time consuming.

When we stopped at Bar Harbor it added well over an hour getting ashore and closer to 2 getting back because 4,000 passengers are all trying to get back on board at the same time.

Can't comment of Coco Cay as we are one of the one's that missed that stop.

What concerns me is there is no wiggle room for the Miami terminal.
