Putting tips on your cabin account.

We just charged our tips to our account on the Galaxy. We were given vouchers to put in the tip envelopes in lieu of cash.

On Summit we were given vouchers but they were thank yous from the staff we tipped. We also gave extra cash to our cabin stewart, waiter and whoever else we thought did an outstanding job for us. The tipping on the account made it so much easier.

On some lines it is now automatic, and you have to go and tell them at the purser's desk you DON'T want it billed to your onboard account. On, "X", it was the opposite, you had to go tell them if you DO want it billed to your account. Also, it was a set "suggested" amount, and to set specific people. If you want ANY thing different, be it the amount or to who, don't use it.

Marco, this has changed. In March on Infinity the form allowed us to choose the dollar amount as well as which specific persons were to be tipped. The choices were limited to the standard categories (waiter, assistant waiter, steward, etc.) but we could choose which specific ones to charge to the onboard account.

I agree. On Summit we were given a list and we could use the set amount or even include extra if we wished. We chose to use the standard amount and then gave those we wanted to give extra the cash. Went to Guest Relations, asked for envelopes and they gladly provided us with Summit envelopes. Worked out great.
