Tampa St Pete/Clearwater airport

Hi all

I found a great air rate to Tampa for an upcoming cruise but see that it is to St Pete/Clearwater airport rather than to Tampa Intl. airport.

Can anyone provide info regarding approximate taxi/shuttle rates from the St Pete Clearwater (PIE) airport to downtown Tampa and/or from the port to the PIE airport.

The two airports aren't that far apart.

Be very careful about flying into St.Pete/Clearwater airport.

Only regional carriers fly in and out of there and if for some reason you miss your flight or it is canceled, you are stuck there for at least a day. Those airlines are not reciprocal with each other so unless you pay for it, you aren't getting put on another carrier.

Uber is available in this area, would definitely be your cheapest option.

Thanks all. We are a bit cautious as the carrier has just one flight a day to Tampa. We planned to arrive the evening prior so if that flight is cancelled, we live close enough ( 8 hours) that we can drive. As for the return, I can think of many worse problems than getting stuck in Tampa for an extra day. :)

My procrastination may have made the decision for us. The prices have gone up so it looks like we may simply make the drive.
