Celebrity Solstice 17/01/14 3 day sampler ex Sydney

Recommended Posts

Hi all! Can anyone tell me if the Celebrity Solstice 3 day sampler out of Sydney on 17 January 2014 will actually sail for the entire cruise, or will it drop anchor for some of the time? Our baby boy will turn 31 on disembarkation day, so we're thinking of doing a bit of a birthday bash on the Solstice. And it'd be a good way of introducing him to the delights of cruising! Many thanks - any advice gratefully received!

Well, the diagram of the cruise in the brochure shows it looping out to sea, but that means nothing.

This far out, I don't think you'll be able to get a definitive answer to that - I doubt there's any point in calling Celebrity here - they're not usually that good with tricky questions.

We'll probably end up booking this one too, as we have a 21st birthday in the family that coincides nicely with it!

The Ship does not drop Anchor, It will drift off the coast.

Strange that this old thread has reappeared today!

The poster will find out for themselves in a couple of days! Perhaps they'll come back and let us all know how it turned out! Then again, probably forgotten that they even started this thread 18 months ago! :o

Very strange, apparently the ships head out to sea in a NE direction to cruise way off Newcastle and then cruise down to Jervis bay but as it never stops at a port until its return to Sydney, it doesn't really matter.:D

maybe they'll go enough out to open the casino....i read some where that p&o dropped anchor in Jervis Bay and opened the casino and someone complained and they got fined

Yeah, I'm expecting they'll open the casino. Two days to miss revenue from there is a bit long!

I'm wondering how the prices of this Solstice 3-night sampler compares to the Voyager that some of us have booked for February 2015.

Anyone know?

I am not sure, but there was a previous thread where someone was saying that the perfumes and colognes, designer clothes and bags were still great prices. Either that was due to duty free being applied orthey were just cheaper than in Australia. :D

Bit hard to compare given the range of cabins, and that prices have changed substantially on the solstice.

Put it this way though, neither of them are cheapies. :D

They did have a great special around $500!for balcony.

I will be in an aft balcony waving at everyone going to work.:p

Will probably be the only time I will be able to afford one.

Yes, we got the special, Balcony for the price of an Inside (booked Dec 2012)

They went quickly

Looking forward to trying Celebrity

Cheers

Tanya

You scored a great price as well. I guess insides & suites sell out first as in most cruises.

Enjoy your time on Solstice!
