Fort Lauderdale airport/Uber/Lyft

landed in FLL this morning, couldn’t get Uber or Lyft ride, no one was available to drive us to Miami. . Had to take a taxi to Hampton Inn downtown Miami , cost was $85 with the tip. Don’t know if it’s because of Christmas weekend.

That is strange. We used Uber from FLL to port of Miami and were picked up in less than ten minutes. (not today)

Very strange - usually a shortage of drivers results in surge pricing, which attracts more drivers.

Everyone keep in mind that it was Saturday before Christmas. Just could have been a timing issue.

We will be doing this on Saturday. Anyone still having problems with getting an Uber?

No other similar reports since this Christmas one that I recall seeing.

Usually there are so many drivers that they have to wait nearly an hour just to get to their turn in line for pickups. No Uber OR Lyft last year? It just sounds questionable to me. Maybe no internet on the phone?

Is there a designated area for Uber/Lyft pickups? If so where would it be. We've never used Uber or Lyft and weren't too happy with the taxi drivers we dealt with.

Between terminals 1 and 2 and also between 3 and 4.

Thanks for this info. We will be using Uber/Lyft come this Saturday to go from Ft L to Miami. And then Miami to the POM. So this information helps.

Anytime. It's easy enough. When you request on the app, it's going to tell you where the pickup is as well very clearly. So you will know where to go. It's not complicated. You walk over between the terminals that the app tells you and hang out in the clearly marked area for Ride Share. There is no guessing game, as the app is going to tell you which pickup to go to and have a little trail of dots on the map showing you where to walk.

Drivers are literally waiting to get the uber call. We called as we walked to the ride share area. Pick up was quick and easy..
