The bulk of Cunard's 2019 schedule was officially released on the morning of September 5, 2017 UK time (the evening of September 4, 2017 US time). But as Host Hattie has mentioned, some of that schedule was leaked early by being posted on several cruise booking web sites.

Right on cue, some of the remaining Cunard 2020 schedule has been posted on one of those cruise booking web sites. Here is what I am seeing so far for Cunard's 2020 schedule beyond what has already been announced on Cunard's web site.

Shame... Cunard seems determined to do away with what we like: long roundtrip cruises from Southampton to the Med. Their progamme remains ever increasingly northern. Never have received an explanation for what is a huge reduction in Med cruises from from the UK and fly-cruises.

and....

Nov 04-Nov 16: Southampton, Alesund, Tromso, Narvik, Stavanger, Southampton

In November?? What can they be thinking?? At least you won't be fighting for a deck chair on this one.

Assuming the above QM2 schedule for the remainder of 2020 is correct, here is an update to the list of the number of QM2 transatlantic crossings per year which I compiled last year in response to a question about whether the number of crossings had been decreasing in recent years.

Keep in mind there is a gap in QM2's schedule in November (presumably for a drydock) which likely has an impact on the number of crossings for 2020.

QM2 Crossings Per Year

2004 = 15

2005 = 26

2006 = 20

2007 = 23

2008 = 24

2009 = 23

2010 = 21

2011 = 21

2012 = 20

2013 = 18

2014 = 18

2015 = 22

2016 = 21

2017 = 24

2018 = 24

2019 = 24

2020 = 22*

* The count for 2020 includes a westbound crossing in December prior to the Christmas cruise which has not yet been announced.

That will be a designated Northern Lights cruise also done by P&O and Princess at same time of year.

I was hoping that the Queen Elizabeth would do Alaska and home to Southampton as she is next year, but if she is still doing Alaska in September then this looks unlikely. This would be a huge disappointment.

So happy to see the change in 2020 with the 4th July Sailing on the QM2 from the flip flopping of Halifax and St John's of the past.

Next year change to 7 days and adding Newport attracted us. And now still staying with the 7 days and changing to Portland Maine in 2020 may attract more newbies to try the QM2.

Jun 29-Jul 06: New York, Halifax, Portland (Maine), Boston, New York

After sailing the QE2 over 12 years ago, this was the type of cruise we used in 2006 to see if we would like the QM2 and now is she is our #1 Ship. Hope others will experience the same feeling and adopt her for their future vacations/holidays.

I am keeping my fingers crossed for QE 2020 Alaska. That would truly be a bucket list for me. My favorite ship hoping

Not even a teeny weeny hint? Seriously though, will just have to continue to wait (im)patiently for the itineraries to be officially announced along with their prices.

Yeah, not much more to be found anyway at this point, unless you want to drill down into the individual itineraries to see the specific dates of each port call or want to see some of the "sail by" calls I omitted in the interest of keeping things simple. No pricing yet.

That's very disappointing - after 2019 another year of cold weather cruises only in the summer.

Well, I guess Carnival figures there must be enough people who like the cold.

For me, after having "frozen" on cruises to Iceland, Norway and the Baltics in the summer in the past, a warm weather schedule is much more preferable.

  • 2 weeks later...

That's interesting. All those new 2020 itineraries for Cunard I reported earlier in this thread are no longer appearing today on the search engine used by the site where I originally found them. I wonder if they were pulled until Cunard formally announces them or if perhaps changes are in the works. I guess time will tell if those earlier listings are accurate or not. Stay tuned for further developments.

Never mind. All the new 2020 Cunard itineraries can be found on another site and they are all as previously reported. So, unless/until those 2020 itineraries are also pulled from that other site, nothing has changed (for now).
