Win a Cruise Bingo

So, we won! Yay! But, I feel it was completely misadvertised. When we paid ($114) and played, the activities staff presented it as an all paid, any destination, any ship trip. They seriously used the words any destination on any ship. This was super exciting because, my mom who actually won, gifted it to my fiancé and I to use for a honeymoon we wouldn't have been able to have otherwise.

In reality, the certificate I received the day after winning presents it as a 4-6 Night Caribbean cruise in an Interior Stateroom with a value up to $625. This makes it very limiting. And at the price they charge for bingo, how in the heck are they only giving away a $625 value when there had to be at least 50+ playing.

So before anyone gripes at me for not being thankful we won, trust me I am. I just have no idea when I'll actually be able to use it. I'm just curious of comments, opinions, experiences of other win a cruise bingo winners, etc.

If they really said, "ANY ship, ANY destination", then you have every right to be "miffed". Try writing to this address. Be polite. Be concise. Be gentle. Say what you would like to happen.

When I won they made the rules very clear and they were printed on certificate too. IF you are on a 5 day cruise when you win you can take a free cruise 5 days or shorter. If you win on a 7 day cruise you get 7, etc.

We just had to pay taxes and fees. Our “free” cruise ended up costing a bit as we had our son join us so we had to pay third person cost.

It still was a lot cheaper than paying for a full cruise and super exciting because until then I never won anything at bingo.

I hope you are still able to enjoy even if it isn’t truly free.

Haven't played in yrs but that the way I remember it. On a 7 nite & win a 7 nite, less for less

I stopped playing when they started using those machines. Totally took the fun out of playing bingo. They’re also making a killing since their payouts are extremely low.

I was playing the paper cards they give you when you get the machine when I had to snatch the machine from my 7 year old sons hand so I could be the one to scream bingo and win the cruise.

I love the machines!

Our free cruise needed up costing us about $1000. We upgraded to a balcony and the stateroom charges. I thought it was still a great deal.

Did not earn any Crown & Anchor points for the free cruise. You apparently get them if the cruise comes from the casino but not if the cruise comes from bingo.

We won one also! The people running bingo that day also misrepresented its value and how to redeem. That being said, it was very easy to redeem. The lady (Ida) I’ve been working with in that department is awesome! Ours worked out to $1250 being deducted from our total cruise fare. You can book any room category other than a guarantee. Most RC departments know their tiny piece of the big picture and shouldn’t speak on other departments but often do unfortunately.

Can you apply the value to a bigger room and pay for an upgrade for yourself ? I stopped playing two years ago when it came down to me and another person each with one number. I lost and still am not over it LOL. (It was my understanding that it’s usually a cheaper room.)

Yes, you can upgrade to any room but not a guarantee. The value of our certificate was $1250 (we won it on a 7day cruise) they literally just deducted it from the cost of the room. We got pretty lucky, there were only about 20 or 30 people playing as the ship had just opened up the internet for passengers to call and let family we’d be at sea longer than expected due to Irma.

On Oasis 7-day cruise 2 weeks ago I won "free" bingo cruise on our 45th cruise. Not Bingo fan but the family wanted me to go. The actual "prize" is a voucher for $1,250 for any Caribbean 7-day cruise with restrictions. i.e. Blackout Period during holidays & summer months and ship has to be been in service at least 365 days. Read the fine print!

I had to complete the voucher and mail it to Comp CruiseDept. You can give them 3 choices withdates, tell them the cabin you want, and I added my spouse. RCCL contacted me 5 days later – I got my 1st choice – Symphony of the Seas – May 18th – Ocean View Balcony deck10. Credited with $1,250. I found RCCL Comp Cruise staff very helpful and happy to help.

I also won the Cruise Bingo while on a 7 day Caribbean Cruise. we could book either an inside or ocean-view cabin. We mailed in the certificate with our choices. We ended up with a nine day Caribbean Cruise and upgraded to a mini-suite. The limitations were very clear and we ended up with a very inexpensive great cruise.
