Are large balconies worth the extra

I have never been on NCL before. A large balcony for my party of 4 would cost about $85 more than the regular size. Is it worth it?

I would say money well spent if there are four of you.

Nothing better than a large balcony :) You won't regret it.

Definitely worth it, if you'll be spending lots of time there.

And it is just the balcony that is larger, not the room itself. I love relaxing on my balcony, and you would be hard pressed to fit all 4 of you on a standard balcony at the same time on the newer ships. On the Jewel class ships, a normal sized balc will fit two chairs and a lounger. On the newer ships, the chairs take up almost the whole space! Even two ppl on the newer ships is a tight squeeze, 4 people would be a no go. Unless you all like sitting on each others laps. lol

It is absolutely worth it!

I upgraded. It was $78 total for the upgrade. I am super excited.

I have never regreted getting a larger balcony. Just ask yourself, "What is it worth to me?". My self? Up to $10 a day per person, depending on how big it is and location.

We spend very little time in our cabin, so for us, the answer would be no. Even our Hawaii cruise saw little balcony use.
