Chania Taxi - At Port vs Pre-arrange

Hi,

Visiting Nov 8, 8am-5pm. Want to do one olive oil farm, then back to Chania for lunch / walking around. Then the bus back to Souda.

I am looking at the guided taxis and I think 40 Euro / hour is a bit high. So I'm wondering if anyone has experience getting a taxi from the port. Are they any less? Can they be negotiated a little more freely than pre-booking online?

I'm thinking 10am leave port to some place like Terra Creta. Then the taxi to drop us off at Chania for our lunch and walk. Does that sound reasonable? Any suggestions on transportation?

I'm thinking taxi from the port, but I can't seem to confirm the approx pricing and availability from the port.

Thanx, WJ
