My father recently got back from an MSC cruise (which he totally disliked) from Fort Lauderdale to the Panama Canal. Oddly, he used his credit card for onboard payments, and although everything was charged in U.S. dollars, he was hit with a foreign exchange rate by his credit card company (Visa) because MSC apparently runs a lot of their charges through their European office/bank.
