My fiance and I have decided not to get married. In fact we have split altogether...I have booked and paid in full for a 7 day cruise that leaves in 42 days. What if anything can I do in terms of refunding her share of the cruise fare? I did get cruise insurance(the middle one) if that makes any difference. Can I take a buddy instead?

Sorry to hear about your situation ... probably for the best. Unless you have “cancel for any reason” insurance, a broken heart is not typically considered a qualifying event. I believe a substitution is considered a cancel and rebooking. Perhaps it might be cheaper to add a 3rd person to the cabin. IDK - just some thoughts

If that turns out to be the case I'll go solo. Got no qualms about that. Was just wondering if there were any options. This suckssss lol

go take a buddy and enjoy your cruise. I think there is a slight charge for a name change, but otherwise everything should be covered. It would be better to go with a friend, than to just lose everything and traveling with a friend will be a lot more fun than going alone or cancelling altogether.

so sorry honey on our last cruise we met someone that the same thing happened to her and she still went . She said that she was glad she went on cruise and had a good time talking to people and having some fun. she said it helped a little to be away from everything that happened at home . Good luck what ever you decide.

You say you have booked and paid for a seven day cruise. You mention "refunding her share of the cruise fare" - who to? You should be able to amend the booking to substitute a new name. Can you cancel the whole cruise and then book something else?

Regards John

What sucks more is marrying the wrong person. Maybe you dodged a bullet. Hope you can still enjoy your trip!

Find the hottest "escort" in town, and offer her a free cruise. Go on vacation, and don't leave your cabin ;);)

Just make Tander profile saying you need someone to come on a pre-paid cruise with you. Probably easier than the escort route, and who knows, she might be more than Mrs Right Now.

Taking a buddy is an option. If she paid part of the fare have him buy her out. If you paid the whole fare, work out something with him, or you can always go alone. The cabin is paid for and NCL doesn't care if you travel alone.

BTW subbing a passenger is not a cancel and rebook and NCL will normally do it for you without charge up until a few days (2 - 3) prior to sailing.

FYI I was supposed to go on a cruise and had to bail literally 2 days before the cruise left due to family crisis. My sister was able to find a friend to go with on very short notice, and there was no problem changing the name.
