Hi! Glad you found the spreadsheets useful!

Any tips on Splendor?

Forums

Thank you!

The Splendor is pink with zebra trim in places, but I thought the overall color and scheme was pleasant. It is certainly not garish.

We had a corner "wrap around" though it was an ocean view only, main deck 2470. GREAT cabin with so much room and two wonderful windows. One of our best cruise cabins ever.

Loved the Tandoor, missed Guys though. I don't think I ever had a burger off the grill, too many other things to eat though I've heard others say they are as good as Guys.

The shows were wonderful - we saw all of them and loved them. Could never quite make it to comedy, though - we were always late enough not to get in and didn't want to wait around for the next shows. We didn't miss it to be honest - there was just so much to do to keep us busy.

Lucky in the casino - both husband and I. Not for vast sums, mind you, but a bit ahead at the end of the week.

Crew was awesome - as always. We had early dining and our wait staff was very attentive and kind. Room stewards great and friendly. Kept us in ice all week and serviced our cabin twice daily.

Couple of minor things that I found on the cruise, not on previous cruises.....I found the area in and around the Lido food venues to be crowded and a bit tight. I can't begin to tell you how often I was jostled and butted around - I won't put it down to rudeness, but more to space issues, I'd like to think. But by the end of the week, I was more than tired of being caught in the crowd.

The other issue was lack of space to watch the dive in movies at night. The main pool area where the screen is, not as much space as other ships so seats were definitely at a premium. 2nd floor of the Lido is table & chairs, those were all taken too. So if you enjoy the movies in the evening, get there early and grab a seat! We only saw a part of one movie and not in a very good spot to view either. That is always one of my favorite activities....so sad to have to miss it.

You will enjoy the ship and the crew and the entertainment!

And thanks again for the link to the Magic spreadsheet - your Splendor one was a big hit with all of us!!

Had trouble with my printer. Now I have 10 copies of the spreadsheet! Think I'll take them to meet 'n greet and give them out.

You need to try the french toast in main dining room for breakfast. much better then the Lido buffet. I was on Splendor last April and kept going and getting french toast from the lido buffet and then discovered breakfast in MDR and had their french toast. MUCH better.

Thanks a lot! Now I have to have French toast and eggs Benedict!

Pancake on Lido was gross! It looked good with syrup on it.

I like the grits if they're hot. Good reason to eat butter.

Randomly looking fohttps://www.pinterest.com/atlastravelweb/cruise-line-recipes/r recipes and found this:

Warm chocolate melting cake every night in MDR

Creme brûlée

Cold strawberry bisque

Chocolate pana cotta (MDR)

Room service chocolate chip cookies (bring a Baggie and store them for the rest of the cruise)

Dark chocolate tuxedo strawberries (coffee shop)

Hot chocolate

Chocolate muffins and lemon cake (brunch)

I cruise for creme brûlée, lobster and warm chocolate melting cake!

Where are the chocolate muffins and lemon cake, in the dining room for sea day brunch?

Sadly as an adult one of my favorite things in the PB&J from Room service with chips.

It's not sad! I love PB&J. I have it at least twice a week at home. :p I ordered it one night from room service and it was delish!

My favorite was the cheesecake and the coffee. I know many people prefer the coffee shop coffee, not me. I drank many many many cups a day of that yumminess.

Thank you!

Oh wow, thank you so much for the review!!

It does look like Lido mid is smaller, smaller than on Glory at least and not as open. Sorry you were bumped around ☹️.

So looking forward to it, cannot wait.

You're very welcome [emoji3].

The first is a mention on CC, the second one is a menu, the third is a review from YouTube

Oh, man, oh, man.....there is my breakfast, lunch and dinner! Missed it on the Liberty by a few years and no plans to go on any of the other ships. :( Wish they would expand it. I think the Liberty had the Fish and Chips and it was the lst time we had sailed on a ship that had that. So I'm assuming this replaced it.

Sea Day Brunch--They are in the breadbasket the servers bring around.

I gave up trying to pick between the banana loaf and the lemon loaf so I get both and skip dessert

If you go later in the morning they have pop overs. Little bites of fluffy heaven.

Sort of. They've replaced the Fish'n'Chips location (Deck 10 mid) on some -- maybe all, by now -- Conquest-class ships with Ol' Fashioned BBQ, which is "free."

At the same time, they installed Seafood Shack (or "Corner") on Deck 9 aft, in the spot where the late-night snacks were. It's the other side of the deck from Pizza Pirate.

I'm not a seafood guy, but the Ol' Fashioned BBQ place became a fave on our last cruise (on Conquest). Just like Fish'n'Chips, it didn't tend to get discovered until the third day of the cruise...and even then there were never more than two people in line.

I used to love the Grand Marnier Soufle from the MDR. It's been a while since I've cruised; is that still around? They also used to sever these spicy fried alligator fritters as an appetizer that were very good. I'm looking forward to checking out all of these new dining options when I set sail on Dream in October!!
