The waffles in the Lido are Belgian.They are a good size and have lots of nooks and crannies for syrup(I prefer the fruit sauces they have,though.)

Yes, they do have them in both places but you might need to use some strategy to avoid waffles that are like hockey pucks. In the MDR, by the time a waffle gets from the galley to the table is is likely going to be luke warm (or cold). In the lido buffet, they will sometimes cook waffles and then toss them into a bin on a steam table...and these often suck. However, in the lido you can simple ask the waffle cook to make you fresh waffles (or get ones as they take them off the waffle iron). When fresh and hot they are quite good.

In the Lido, just ask for fresh waffles. You may have to wait about 3 minutes. Done this on many HAL ships.

If you are in a Neptune Suite or the Pinnacle Suite, and eat in the Pinnacle Grill for breakfast -- they arrive cold there as well. I tried them a couple of times and then just gave up.

In the Lido I just ask the man making them to make me a fresh, hot one.

Totally agree. I never order them in the MDR anymore. Freshly made in the Lido is the way to go. They are delicious.

In the Lido Restaurant, a fresh made waffle with a warm fruit compote is delicious! I prefer the warm Peach Compote, but the other compotes are also delicious.

In the Lido,on HAL, waffles made on the spot so always hot. Crepes as well.

Yep, the Lido is the way. I often run up after our breakfast is delivered on port days, to get a couple of nice fresh hot ones to go along with the stuff we ordered.

You really don't have to search for butter and syrup. They are right there near the pancakes and waffles or just ask a crew member if you don't see them. Why do you always bring this up...makes no sense. :confused:

On some ships they have the waffle special. On KDam this year, yes. Just off Eurodam, no waffle special. Both had very good waffles at the Lido.

Do they make chocolate or chocolate chip waffles?

Will be sailing in Feb on Oosterdam & must try those waffles with fruit in the Lido . I can taste them already ,YUM !! :D:D:D

They just put certain toppings on. Chocolate chips and whip cream today. Maybe strawberries and something else. Generally, those things are available every day, but they "feature" certain things on certain days.
