Hello from Cheznandy Live on the Emerald Princess

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.......having a lovely time, lovely ship.

Weather has been cool and windy.....possibly missing Mare tomorrow as we may not be able to tender.

Older age group......have seen about 6 kids.

Boarding was great, not sticking to staggered boarding times. We boarded at 12.30pm.

12 bottles of wine carried on, corkage paid on 10.

Any questions will try to answer for those travelling soon.

Hello Cheznandy,

Hope you are having a great cruise. Wow so few kids most of them must be in school. Great to hear you are on the Emerald. Plenty of questions here:

1.How is the food in the MDR and at the Horizon Buffet?

2. How is the service in general?

3. Have you got the AIBP?

4. What are the shows and how are they?

5. Where are the good spots on the ship?

6. What is the tendering process like at ports like Mare etc?

7. What about Noumea, did the ship dock at the passenger terminal or the container terminal?

Thank you!!

Sorry to hear that OzKiwi.....hopefully that means better, more settled weather for January.

It's the luck of the draw, I think. The first two cruises we did over there, Dec14 and Mar15, we had lovely weather. The second one was only a week or so after Cyclone Pam went through that area.

On the last trip they completely changed the itinerary because of the weather, even so Noumea was very soggy, Lifou was cancelled, and the weather at Mare looked a bit iffy so we stayed onboard - it cleared up in the afternoon. We did have a lovely day at the Isle of Pines though and we had a fun cruise overall.

Hi,

Just wondering the average age of your fellow guests and whether there are many people in their 30/40s?

Thanks and hope you enjoy the rest of your trip.

Looking around, the average age would be 50 -60....... but we have seen all ages, just not alot of kids.

Everyone is out late having a great time!!

A sea day today, friends did the Pub lunch in the Wheelhouse bar and loved it.

Regular trivia held in club fusion morning and afternoon.

We are enjoying anytime dining, found a great quiet area...called the naughty corner in Michalangelo restaurant, must be good, the Captain dined next to us last night!!

Used the spa in the Lotus pool this arvo..nice and quiet.

We dined in the naughty corner often when on the Caribbean Princess, very quiet compared to other areas and great service.:D

Hi Chez and Andy,

Glad to hear you're enjoying the cruise. Are cruise cards being checked for Anytime? Can we ask to be directed to the 'naughty corner' in Michelangelos?

We're next in line (boarding Dec 12) :D:D

Cheers,

Anna

They dont check ours as we make a booking for the time we want in the morning.....so they have our info, we have been going at 7.45pm and so far there are lots if empty tables.

I am not a fan of traditional diners doing anytime...makes our wait longer!!

Yes you can ask for the naughty corner with May, no guarantees though.

Thanks Cheznandy for taking the time out of your holiday to post answers to all the many questions.

The sample menu for the Crown Grill has me salivating just reading it. Hope it is as good as the menu sounds.

Have a great time at the Crown Grill tonight and stuff yourself silly. :D
