Your favorite pre or post cruise Tampa hotel and why.

There's also a nearby Embassy Suites. If you are interested in nightlife I would explore the Ybor City part of Tampa - there's a Hampton Inn there as well as others. Arriving late and just want dinner and a room - look for hotels near the TPA airport; there's lots of nearby dining options and a big mall in the area. Finally, many prefer the bays ide area known as Rocky Point -- several hotels there plus dining; some of the hotels provide both port and airport shuttles.

Avoid the area near the Tampa football stadium unless you are into strip clubs!

Have a great cruise!

I live in the Tampa area and can tell you there are hundreds of hotels to choose from. TPA to the pier is about 8 miles. If you searching hotel websites, choose either the airport area, downtown Tampa, or Ybor City. They are all on your way to the cruise pier. Uber is much better than taxi if you need a ride somewhere

Marriott Waterslide and Westin Waterslide are both full. Still looking...would like someplace we could walk to for lunch and dinner but won’t have a whole lot of time in Tampa. And preferably fairly close to the port. We will probably Uber to port.

Embassy Suites Downtown is right across the street from the Marriott Waterside. Only a mile from the port

I stay at the Rocky Point Holiday Inn. They have a free shuttle from the airport & for $20.00 per person, they will take you to the port. There is a great place to eat right next to the hotel.

When we got off of the ship, there was a shared van outside to shuttle people to the airport for I believe $8.00 per person.

Well I ended up booking the Renaissance, not as close to the port as I had hoped but appears to be by a mall and various restaurants. I found many if the suggested hotels were already booked up. Thanks everyone.
