Can’t decide between River or Ocean? Try both!

Just found a new offer from Viking. Begin with a river cruise that starts in Switzerland for 8 days then hop on an Ocean cruise for 10 days to either Bergen or Barcelona.

Now that sounds cool. Putting that on the list.

We are going on the South America/Caribbean cruise in February and the Danube river boat cruise in April.

I saw that, too. I think it's a great idea especially for someone that hasn't experienced one or the other. We love both of their ocean and river cruising. It would be fun to tie the two together.

OP is talking about the new B2Bs that Viking is now packaging that combine a river cruise and an ocean voyage. It makes for a longer vacation and saves on airfare. They can also probably be combined with pre and post-cruise stays as well.

River and Ocean cruises. If this link doesn't work, they are very easy to find on the Viking website. Click on Cruises in the header (right next to Ships) and from the drop down menu choose River & Ocean Voyages.

Go to Viking Oceans and click on Cruises. Ocean &River Voyages is in the drop down list.

There are two combined cruises they are marketing. It does sound like a nice mixture of river and ocean for a European vacation.
