Just did a mock booking and our price drop was $180.00 for our May sailing on Vista.Called my PVP and he adjusted it. Lost my 50.00 OBC, so had a net savings of $130.00.

I'll take it!

to make it a little easier on you going forward you can use:

https://www.carnival.com/bookingengine/fareviewer

Which will tell you the fare only portion for what category you booked.. ( you can easily compare this to what you paid )

The Taxes and Fees almost never change..

It doesn't show all categories as spa cabins prices are not listed(or I cannot find them)

Correct! I didn't see Spa. Looked like all others.

I should have said my Lido Deck Balcony.

Thanks, however that doesn't factor in different prices for higher decks.

In my experience it does. An 8 E balcony cabin is different from an 8 A balcony cabin only based on location. If there are unsold cabins in both categories, both are displayed in fareviewer.

I am not really sure what you are talking about. Every cabin is a set fare code. Insides are like 4A-4G ( there are some more for different ships)... When you booked you booked one of these cabin types. It does not matter what deck you are on, again for example, there are 4A on deck 1 and deck 8, its just the fare type.

So, to use the tool check your booking for the fare code, then check the tool for that booking. If you find anything higher lettered (or the same ) than your booking type you should be able to then apply for a price drop. Example, you booked a 4D inside cabin for $298, if the price of a 4D is listed at $289 you can request the fare drop. If the price of a 4F is $289 you can request a fare drop or a upgrade to that category type. ( the same applies to go from inside (4's) to oceanview(6's) )

The room wont change if you stay in the same fare, you can be made to change rooms if you price match against a different room type ( oceanview from an inside)... again you found a oceanview for less than you paid for your inside.

For people saying that the fare is not there, that means that fare code is sold out at present.

I have been using this website for over 8 years to get more than $2,000 worth of price drops. It works, and is far faster and easier than mock bookings.

I didn't scroll up the last time I looked. I went back and looked and saw it now.

Got it now, Thanks for setting me straight!

Thanks for posting! Just for fun I checked out my January cruise on the Vista, and since my category has been sold out for a while I didn't expect see it listed. I was right! ;)

Also checked on the Splendor in March, no luck there either. Hey, it can't hurt to check!

Everything you said is spot on correct. However, it doesn't show special rates tied to your VIFP # such as casino rates if you happen to have one. It also doesn't show military rates.

I actually used to to mock bookings more to check for price drops, but since the website has gotten so wonky filled with defaults, I use fare viewer now. If you don't see a category, then there are none available at the time you're checking. That's it.

Ours just went up $20 pp too. I've been checking every now and then and as of last week it hadn't gone up yet. Not much but its been the same price since November of last year. now its starting to go up. All well, My PVP got me a rate few months back on Lido I couldn't even get booking online as past guest rate plus OBC.

Price of my November Vista cruise has gone UP, UP, UP since we booked in April, 2016! We're in an 8E (Lido Deck Balcony) and right now it's showing only 8G's available. Last time I saw an 8E available, it was almost $500 more than we paid when we booked. In fact, just looking a cabin options for a family member considering going and if they book today, they would pay more for a Deluxe Oceanview than we did for our balcony. Crazy!

Just because one voyage drops, does not mean they ALL drop.

Our early December sailing is up $110 today.

Of course. But it never hurts to check. Sometimes a thread like this can remind people.

My Vista cabin category has gone down a few times. Back and forth between being sold out and available again. Fortunately I've been able to catch two drops AND maintain a $50 obc. Meanwhile, my sister's balcony category has been sold out for weeks. And before it was, the price had gone up over $600.
