Why so little on the Triumph

Other than "the incident" and a bit when returned to service I see relatively little about the Triumph (compared to te other ships). Y'all are making me nervous...is it because of age? Size? Port? Itinerary?

Yes. LOL, we were on the Triumph in December. Loved the Alchemy Bar and the 2.0 upgrades. The cruise was cold, but hey, it was December, and even in Texas, we get colder weather sometimes. I thought it was a "meh" trip this time--nothing horrible, and some things were great, but overall it was just an okay cruise. I can't put my finger on what happened for us. Probably had something to do with our DD and SIL choosing Anytime dining for all of us.

Been on the Triumph several times. Just off on Monday. We had wonderful dining room staff with Anytime Dining. We asked for them each night. Henry & Freddy. Guys Burgers are great. I'm not a fan of buffets so can't comment on that. We had a lot of fun in the casino.

Bar staff didn't seem all that friendly, balconies on Lido & Panorama were not redone when it was being repaired. Nothing wrong with the rooms but I was under the impression everything was redone. I think they only took care of areas damaged in Feb.

We normally do 7 days, we came back from our 4 day exhausted, think we tried to cram too many activities into a short time.

Will definitely sail The Triumph again.

Triumph 2.0 was great first week in December. I did sail on T before the upgrades, the new layout on Lido with Guy's and Blue Iguana is really good.

Totally agree. Triumph has a great, friendly staff. 2.0 is a nice addition. Guy's Burgers are a nice treat. Finally made it to Passion Island & had a great lunch at Shark on the melacon. From my signature you can tell we like Triumph.

We are headed to Galveston to board Triumph today. Carnival called yesterday with an upsell offer from a lido balcony to an ocean suite. Weather forecast is iffy so we took the suite in case we wind up spending a lot of time in the cabin. This wIll be our first Carnival suite. After our last Carnival cruise we said we weren't going to cruise Carnival again, and then after the Triumph we said we definitely weren't going on that ship. But here we are! I'm sure we'll have fun. I will report when we return.

We are on board now. "Underwhelmed" would be my general first impression. Did have a very good burrito from the Iguana Grill. They have a salsa bar but no chips - weird. I didn't understand people who thought 15 drinks were not enough as the Cheers cut-off point. Now I understand - drinks are just fruit juice with a splash of alcohol. I watched bartender make a Funship Special in the sports bar. I couldn't believe I got that little alcohol for $8! Thinking of trying martinis and see if they are a little more bang for the buck. There are a LOT of kids and teenagers on board. We were surprised about that.

We are having fun. I'm going to get an internet package and will try to report more during the trip. We have our fingers crossed for sun!

If you have questions, post them and I will try to get answers.

Yes Please do we leave on her on the 13th. I can not wait. I know what the op means I am always looking for reviews and photos of the Triumph. Thank you all~~ My theory is if you are happy people with a good attitude what vacation isn't a blast.

I was just talking to family about cruising "Carnival" in February. They asked if I was concerned with "all the problems Carnival has". My reply and what I truly believe, you hear about an airline crash that is horrific, but pay no mind to the thousands a day that have no trouble at all. Royal Carribean had a pretty major fire if you remember. Things can and do happen. But even in light of the poor publicity cruising and Carnival in particular, the number of problems is so small compared to the number or cruises sailing each day and each week.

I've had two things happen that I needed help and info from Carnival and I have to say, with this being my third cruise with them, I've never been more impressed with how wonderful and accommodating they have been in finalizing what is going to be a great cruise in February. Sure they had some problems and in some opinions they didn't handle the publicity well, but I think at the moment they are at least trying to earn back the publics respect. I wouldn't fear Triumph. Heck, just heard the Dream was delayed with mechanical issues recently, and that's what I'm booked on....I have no doubt in having a good to great cruise. We love seizing on the terrible things we hear that are big news, but focus on having a good time because odds are in your favor if you go into it with the right attitude. The rest is out of all our control.

If you just got off on Monday, Dec. 30, then we were with you! My mom's the one who hit the $10K+ jackpot. It was a great cruise!
