We were lucky enough to nab a GS on Explorer of the Seas for a great price. I have been busy trawling this site to familiarize myself with the various extra perks to the point where confusion is setting in !!! We have decided not to get a drink package and will avail ourselves of the Happy Hour drinks in the special room. Does anyone have a menu of what's available ?? Also are there any internet perks for suite passengers ?? I understand there are different eating areas for us - is this only breakfast and lunch ?? Is there anything we should not miss as this may be our one and only time in a suite ??? !!!!

Thanks for this. My trawling has given me the impression that in reality, different ships have variations of this and all may not be available on all ships - I may be wrong but .... Hoping to get some responses from people who have sailed in a suite on Explorer from Sydney. But once again thanks for your response.

I have sailed on Explorer in GS1584 on deck 10, but not from Sydney, it was the first sailing to Australia Singapore to Perth nearly 2 years ago. It was my only RC cruise so far unfortunately and likely to be the only time I'll ever get to be in a suite . We were 3 friends and the upgrade was a gift from one of us. (nice friend huh!)
We could eat breakfast (made to order) in Chops grill, the Concierge lounge was opened about 2 - 3 hours in the evening (from what I remember) so if you timed dinner well you could have a pre-dinner drink, walk out of the lounge with a drink in your hand to take to dinner and then pop back in for a pre theatre drink. The concierge was great, nothing was too much trouble and he had a couple of cupboards of DVDs you could borrow if you just wanted a quiet night in. He would escort us to the front of the line for tenders, to prime theatre seats, it was really lovely yo feel special. A FULL menu for the next days lunch & dinner in the dinning room was left in your suite the night before so if you wished you could order room service. At the time, I don't know if they since changed it, our suite card let us in to the Diamond Lounge as well. We didn't use that during their 'happy hours' as it was often full, but it had a really nice outdoor area behind it where we could sit in a shaded area and talk, perhaps play cards/games that was quite quiet and they served light snacks and afternoon tea etc. There was a bar just outside it if we wanted a drink while we sat there. The concierge lounge is 'inside' and has no windows. The VIP pool area is very nice but there is absolutely no shade, so was hardly used.
The same friend went on the Voyager in March (South pacific) again in a suite which you probably know is the sister ship, exactly the same, just a metre shorter I think so if you have any specific questions I'd be happy to ask her and report.

Thanks - that is very helpful. Could you ask your friend about Internet access - are there any perks available on RCC. I know Celebrity does for suite passengers according to my reading. Thanks again.

There's no free internet in a GS on Explorer. In terms of perks we enjoyed: front of queue access to tenders (the concierge host will lead you via back passages to the head of the queue and others will have been held back around a corner so nobody knows you've done this), led off the ship by the concierge too at the time you want to depart skipping the queues, flash coffee machine in the concierge lounge, nibbles in the concierge lounge at various times of the day (you have 24/7 access to the lounge), PS3 games available should you want them, reserved seating for the ice show and no need to book for it (good seats too), reserved seating in the theatre, welcome aboard cocktail party where the officers will tell you that you're their favourite passengers, officers will appear in the concierge lounge on one of the evenings. Breakfast in Chops although the food is not great (same limited menu every day and the food is never really hot) but you can bring food in from the buffet if you want to. Lunch seating in Chops. Upon boarding they set up one of the lounges just for suite guests with nibbles should you want to wait there for rooms to become available. The GS on Explorer is a nice size and comfortable. You can order MDR dinner items for room delivery but bear in mind you do not have a proper table like in an OS (but there is a small table on the balcony). Room service is on a nicer tray than used for non suites.

As for having got a good price; I suspect you didn't since you'll never want to go back to a standard room and so you need to factor in your future increased costs into the fare you paid...

Hello, checked but no, no special price however, just before the sail date RC sent out an email to passengers (perhaps all, she doesn't know) offering a special deal on internet access.

No free internet for Suite guests - only Pinnacles get free internet. Under the loyalty program, there is 'some' complimentary internet - the most being two days (doesn't have to be consecutive) for Diamond Plus.

Cheers
