Oh my, where do I begin.

Start the day with some good cardio.

Enjoy a big, really big breakfast.

Tour the ship, take plenty of pics of the ship, and attend any scheduled activities of interest.

Check out the casino.

Take a snack back to our cabin, sit on the balcony and chill listening to music on my iPad.

Nap.

Lunch.

Repeat step 3 and forward. dinner.......

Sea days are our favourites. That is why we've taken half a dozen transatlantics.

We've also enjoyed the sea days to/from Hawaii and other sea days.

We look at the list of next day's activities and make some possible choices.

Sleep late. Leisurely breakfast.

Husband always takes part in Trivia. I always spend some time reading.

Lectures, wine tastings, explore the ship. Leisurely drink together in a bar.

The nicest thing about sea days is relaxation. We can choose what we wish.

I do whatever strikes my fancy. There are usually enough activities to keep one busy and since I love to read, I never have a problem, A good book on a balcony or on a lounge chair suits me just fine.

I just wish the dining room was open on port days.

Agree with reading from a Kindle full of books and lunch on the balcony when the MDR is closed.

On sea days, and we have done a lot of sea days as we have done two transatlantic cruises, I do not sit by the pool. I explore the ship, watch the bikinis by the pool, take pictures, watch for ships, spot sea life, sometimes I will even take in a show or other event. I love sea days. I look forward to them. I want a 7 day cruise to nowhere.

Sea Days are the best!!! Room Service on the balcony, no rush to go anywhere.

Stroll around the ship with no plans, just whatever suits your fancy. Maybe some sun, maybe a game of mini-golf, a lounger and a book, or just some people watching. Best time ever... I am still looking for a 7 day cruise to nowhere!!!

I love sea days the most. I'm taking a B2B on Carnival 10/16 (first part business seminar) then staying on for the next five-night cruise. I never leave the ship. Love the peace and quiet during POC days. Also am going solo. Have a huge family and am just one who needs to get away by myself at times. Have made a promise to myself that I will take at least one cruise solo a year for the rest of my life -- I'm a 67-year-old widow but still feel like I'm 40! LOL Eventually, I'll work my way to a Transatlantic. A little apprehensive of that one yet. And I'll try different lines each time. Only taking this one because of business. Any suggestions of the best cruise line for flying solo at my age? I'm female. Hard to know by my name. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend Canada-New England (although too late for that this year). My favorite is Celebrity Summit 14-day all the way to Quebec City (2 days), round-trip from Cape Liberty (Bayonne), NJ. So far, one of my "requirements" for my solo cruising is that I not have to buy an air ticket (i.e. sail from Baltimore or New York City area). I just returned from the Summit and also did the same cruise in 2012. Great itinerary with plenty of interesting ports and a nice scattering of sea days. Another possibility is Bermuda (also on Summit or several other ships).

I, too, long for a "7-day cruise to nowhere!" For us, sea days are for total relaxation -- a total break from our normal life. We often find we are not able to "do" all the things available on sea days: dance lessons, afternoon tea, special lunches (such as Princess' "Pub Lunch"), promenade deck walks, movies, listening to music in lounges, relaxing in an adults only pool, reading, travel journal writing, enjoying an adult beverage, napping, watching the sea and the sky from our balcony. But we do not stress over these things -- if we do them, we do them, if not, no worries! Our schedule involves sleeping in, having breakfast in our cabin, taking a walk, then simply deciding what else to do of the many options, until it is time to dress for dinner!

I never get a chance to read when I'm home: work and golf get in the way. So cruises/vacations are for pool time or balcony and just catching up on reading a good book or 2 or 3. Sleep late. Saunter around the ship w/o DH. Breakfast/brunch, cocktails, snack, cocktails, dinner, cocktails. :D

DW and I took back-to-back transatlantics on the Queen Mary 2 and the Queen Elizabeth last January. We went from New York City to Southampton to New York to Ft. Lauderdale. That was a lot of sea days and I loved it. I could do a 14 day cruise to nowhere and be very happy. Boredom would not be an issue. Jerry of Jerry and Lady Kathryn

DH and I are both 57 and we love sea days! But, we love our own "sea days" even more when we're in a port we've been to a few times and choose not to get off the ship. Lots less people on board then. :)

If we have a balcony there is nothing I enjoy more than ordering an early room service breakfast and having it out on our balcony with coffee. Heavenly! My husband doesn't really care to do that much so he will do it once (during a week long cruise) but he prefers going to the buffet. Sometimes he'll go up early for coffee and something light, then mid-morning we'll both go up and have a "second" breakfast together.

We both enjoy reading, so we seek out loungers away from the pool area and read and doze the late morning/early afternoon away. Have lunch at the buffet or deli or Guy's, maybe play some trivia at some point during the day, check out the shops once or twice (or more) and make some purchases. Sometimes we take a mid-afternoon nap so we can stay up late for the shows, comedians, and enjoy a couple drinks at the piano bar, etc.

Plus there is usually always mini-golf, or just walking around the ship, stopping here and there to sit and relax, enjoy some live music, etc. We're never, ever bored on sea days.
