Can we purchase laundry services by the bag on the Nautica?

We just booked a 20 day cruise on the Nautica and have absolutely no desire to use the laundromat. Do they provide laundry services by the bag on the Nautica? If so, do you know how much it is? Ideally we would like to just pay for unlimited laundry services for the entire cruise like we do on HAL cruises, but by the bag will work just fine. Any insights will be greatly appreciated.

We also never use the self-service laundry on the ship. There is a chance for a laundry special on longer trips but regardless the ship does provide laundry service. We find it quite good and the price/value opinions are subjective. Enjoy your cruise.

In looking back at this thread I never did find out what a bag of laundry cost when there wasn't a special going on. Anyone know?

It is only offered as a special - otherwise it is per piece as indicated on the price as in your cabin

There is usually a bag special on cruises 14 days or longer. It used to be 20 items 20 dollars

This is the "bag" special: 20 pieces for $20. We've had it offered even on 14 day cruises, about 10 days into the cruise and just for that one day.

Would anyone have a photo of the a la carte prices? (seems someone always has a photo of fees/services here;)).

Will be in Europe for 3 weeks but only doing a 7 day cruise so doesn't sound like any bag specials. Just curious if we are talking >$100 (like some hotels will charge).

Thanks,

John

After hearing how few machines are available, I really appreciate Crystal all the more. Packing 3 weeks worth of underwear is ridiculous and paying a buck a piece for underpants which I really do not want anyone else touching is equally ridiculous.

You could try google some photo sites may have cruisers photos with lists

Option 2

There is always the laundry room at $2 per machine

you do not have to sit there while you wait but just co ordinate your watch with the machine time

So from what I can tell, there is a launderette on the 7th floor of the R class ships and one on each floor (7, 8, 9 and 10) on the Riviera and Marina. So if we save our larger items, shirts/blouses and pants, for the special bag deal on the longer cruises, when do you think would be the "slow times" to do a load of laundry? Also, any idea how many washer/dryer sets are in the launderettes?

We're thinking slow times might be (1) on embarkation day of the 2nd leg of a B2B or Grand Voyage or (2) on port days when we decide to stay on ship or (3) even possibly late in the evening after the show? Obviously, sea days would probably be a mess in the launderette. For those that have been on 25+ day cruises, when have you found the slow times, if any, to be in the launderette?

The 2 times we cruised on O before were 10 and 14 day cruises and we just loaded up the suit cases with clothes. However, we're now looking at 25-36 day cruises, so we need to come up with some kind of advanced strategy using both types of services so we roughly know how much to pack. Then again if we have enough OBC from O as well as our TA when we set sail, we might just wind up using it to have it all done by O. Any experienced thoughts will be appreciated.

Ken; no photos but here are a sample of prices for "clean and press" for men:

Polo shirt - $5.95, dress shirt- $6.95; slacks/trousers- $11.95; jeans$10.95; undershorts- $2.95; Bermuda shorts -$5.95; Sweaters-$10.95.

Women wear is similar. These are the prices, if not on the 20 article special.

Good to know. That's not too bad as long as we can do a load of laundry every once in awhile to take care of all the socks and undies, especially if we have extra OBC to burn.

See this thread for more discussion on laundry, times, machines, etc:

Also, just put in "laundry' into the search box and you'll get a ton of info.

We just got off a 21 day Crystal cruise in May on the Serenity and had a fantastic time and had no problem doing a load of laundry every week, once on the embarkation day of the 2nd leg and once when we had a short excursion and got back early.

Thank you pinotlover. Prices look as high as some hotels. Guess some of the OBC will have to be set aside;)

And personally, I'm not doing laundry on vacation and sure not going to ask the wife to either.

Cheers,

John

I have done laundry during the day without a problem of course port days are easier when most go ashore

but if you time it right there is no issue

If you want to sit in the laundry room & wait there is a TV & on the O ships a fridge/drinks, sofa to make you comfortable

Never found the need to sit there though

The laundry room closes at 10 pm so make sure you are done by then or your clothes will be sitting overnight in the machine ;)
