Do all of my casino/gambling transactions have to come from my S&S account...?

So...I plan on hanging in the casino a fair amount on my upcoming cruise (7 days away! woohoo), because I've heard/read that this is a decent way to help your chances of getting some nice discount offers for future cruises. Plus, I just enjoy a little gambling.

BUT....I don't want to stress my wife out if she sees a bajillion casino transactions and swings on our account summary. I'm assuming you can't just gamble at the tables with cash...? You HAVE to use your S&S account card?

You can gamble with cash. Not a problem. You always have the option of charging to your Sign and Sail card though.

You can charge your account or use cash. Just make sure to insert your S&S card in the machine to receive points. For table play give it to the Dealer so he can swipe it. I believe they charge you a percent when using your onboard account for table games but I’m not sure. I do slots mostly and the rest cash.

You can insert cash to begin play but to cash out of the machine (unless things have changed recently) it will only pay out to you S&S card "Casino Account". Then you can play you S&S Casino account for further slot play or you can go to the casino cage and cash out you S&S Casino Account

Your S&S card has 2 separate accounts assigned to it

1. You door key and all purchases made and charged to your primary account. Everyone on the account can see it on TV or at Guest Services.

2. When plugged into a slot machine, it becomes your casino account card. Only you can see what is on or in this account. You have a separate PIN that you set up at the first slot machine you sit down to.

It is not associated with your other S&S account UNLESS you want to withdraw funds from your main account into your casino account.

You must go to the casino cage to close out and cash out your casino account.

Just checking - even if you're playing with cash already in hand at the tables, you need to give your S&S card to the dealer to swipe? This records that you are gambling and, you will hopefully receive casino offers in the future? Thanks.

I'm not sure if they require you to give them the card, but just like any other casino, that's how they track your play.

We have gone to a table given the dealer our card and asked for a specific amount of chips and was not charged a percentage when it was covered by our obc.

Be careful it can be a very expensive way to get a discount on a future cruise.

If you want to "earn" a chance at a future cruise discount, give the pit boss your card for tracking but play with cash.

Casino accepts cash

Any winnings at a slot are put onto the sign and sail card but not on your obc area. It’s a separate part. Must give the sign and sail card to casino cage to cash out your account before casino closes that last night

If I'm not mistaken - Carnival charges 3% to get cash against your sail & sign when you play at the tables. They don't have the same charge if you charge your room card at the slots. But, if you do a room charge at a slot machine make sure you make some plays on it. Don't charge S&S card & then take it to the cashier to cash it out. I made the mistake of doing that on another line - got something like $200 against the room, but really only wanted to play $100 at that time. So, I hit the cash out button (where it goes back on the card) - when I tried to use the card again, it was locked & I had to get casino personnel to unlock it before I could use it again. They do this to keep players from charging account (with no percentage) just to have cash to take to a table (where you'd get charged that percentage to get the same cash). Hope this makes sense. Oh - and the dealers always ask for your card. At least that's been my experience. Not quite sure how their "tracking" works though.

There will be 1 Craps table. They also have a few versions of BlackJack, Three Card Poker, Let It Ride and maybe a Pai Gow Poker table.
