We had done this trip 3 times now & it proves you need to get up early to both see & film this beautiful area as the weather closes in so fast...hence the waterfalls.

What a wonderful trip you will have and the weather there should be the best (as with your weather in July) as it's the peak of the season. We went late Nov. and can be chilly.

If you are not on expensive tours use the local busses as they are near to port in Dunedin & Christchurch with Wellington walking distance to city. We caught the trolley bus & a day pass is only $4
